The camp is situated on a piece of land that is surrounded by two streams. The camp is surrounded by lush trees. The nursery is located in a nest of brambles. The elder's den and ;eader's den is located in reeds and thickets while the medicine cat den is located behind a thornbush. There is a small pool of water in the medicine cat's den.

Brackenpool shifted in his sleep, and then he opened his dark amber eyes. He noticed that Ashpaw was still asleep, so he left his apprentice quickly. He sat in the entrance of the medicine cat den and watched the sun come up.

Ivyfrost sat in the clearing, already up. She flexed her claws then glanced over at the medicine cat den when she saw movement. She gave him a small nod from where she sat near the entrance.

Silverstar padded from her den, her mouth parted in a yawn as she stretched. It seemed like a good day, the sun was out and the birds where chirping away.

Ashpaw shifted in his nest before rolling out of it. The coldness of the packed dirt floor slowly began to wake him up. As sleep left him, he gave a small sigh, rolling up to his paws and stretching, kneading the hard ground with his paws before giving his coat a shake. Making his way over to the entrance, he spotted his mentor. "Morning." he mumbled, tired, as he stifled a yawn.

Brackenpool saw Ivyfrost nod to him, so he nodded silently in return. He turned as Ashpaw said his name and he nodded. "Good morning." he replied then returned looking out at the camp. "We'll have to go and collect some herbs that we've low on later. It looks like it's going to be a nice day for it."

Ivyfrost looked at Silverstar when she emerged from her den, and she nodded to the RiverClan leader. "Silverstar." she meowed.

The young, grey tom stifled another yawn before nodding. "Alright." he acknowledged, blinking his eyes as he tried to force himself to awken more. "When are we heading out?" he asked, looking up at his orange-furred mentor.

Lillypool emerged from the warrior's den, quickly stretching in the sunlight. She let a yawn escape her mouth, and she looked at the cats already awake and in camp.

Shellclaw padded out after his sister, walking past her as she stopped to stretch.

Silverstar nodded back to ivyfrost. "good morning. Will you come with me on boarder patrol this morning?" She asked as she padded up to the she cat.

Brackenpool paused before answering, "We'll go out after the border patrol. Get something to eat, too." he would feel better if a patrol went out first. It was still early, and foxes or badgers might still be wandering around.... or other clan cats.

Ivyfrost looked at Silverstar and shrugged. "Fine." she replied, her eyes unreadable.

Ashpaw grunted, sensing his mentor's reasonings just because he knew him. "You know, we could handle ourselves." he mewed, flicking his tail. "See?" The young tom suddenly leaped on one of the reeds next to their den, his claws unsheathing. He darted around it and attacked from the other side before lunging, snapping it off with his jaws. Ashpaw looked at Brackenpool, giving him one of his trade-mark looks that seemed to say, See? Told you so!

"Let go right away. Then we can get back to send the hunting party" she meowed, turning and heading out of camp. She slowed enough for Ivypool to keep up.

Brackenpool watched then twitched his ear. "An angry badger is a little different then a reed, Ashpaw. A badger would be trying to kill you and it wouldn't stand there and let you hit it. We'll go once the patrol comes back. They won't take long."

Ivyfrost ran out after Silverstar.

Ashpaw flattened his ears at Brackenpool's comment. I know that! he thought but he just lowered his head and grumbled, "Fine." He swatted the reed pieces to the edge of the camp with one blow, clearing them out of the way. He slipped back into the medicine's den going to the back to get a drink of water from the small pool before returned. "But I could handle myself, you know." he added before making his way over to the fresh-kill pile.

Brackenpool twitched his ear and grinned slightly. "I know that, Ashpaw." he meowed. His apprentice had to build of a warrior. "But you have nothing to prove. It's better just not to take the risk of meeting something." he knew that Ashpaw had the strength to fight, but he wasn't so sure about himself. He wasn't weak by any means, but he didn't have the build of a strong fighter, broad shoulders, muscular legs. "Besides, you know how our last battle training went." he meowed with a slight purr as he remembered how his apprentice bested him.

Ashpaw felt a small zing of pride shoot through him as he remembered. Oh, yes, he remembered it clearly, and he was proud of how he'd done. And why shouldn't he be? As he grabbed a small fish, he allowed himself a smile before he began to eat his meal.

Shellclaw noticed Silverstar and Ivyfrost about to go out. He quickly padded up to them before they left. "Excuse me, Silverstar, but do you mind if I join you two?" he asked.

Lillypool watched her brother go up to Silverstar's patrol before smiling to herself and looking at the fresh-kill pile. She padded up at the same time as Ashpaw, and she smiled at the medicine cat apprentice. "Good morning Ashpaw." she meowed, then chose a fish for herself.

(( Hey Xai, Silverstar and Ivyfrost have been patroling already for a little bit ))

Ashpaw gave a small nod to Lillypool. "Morning." he replied as he quickly finished up his own fish. Swiping his tongue around his jaws, he gave a swift stretch, shaking out his fluffy fur. Now he knew he had to be patient. Great... He supposed conversation might help pass the time. "Nice weather, huh?" he said lamely, but not really knowing what else to say.

(( Oh fail, sorry xD ))

Lillypool finished her breakfast in a few bites, then looked up when Ashpaw spoke. "It's a little too hot for my liking, but it's still nice." she replied, then gave her chest a few licks.

Shellclaw sat by the warrior's den, kneading the ground with his paws. He itched to get out into the territory, but knew he would have to be patient. He stood up and stretched, then glanced at his sister who was talking with Ashpaw.

Ashpaw shrugged. "Yeah, I guess. That's another good thing about the River, though." he mewed, his whiskers twitching. "It's nice to cool off in.." A river, that, had Brackenpool not been so insistent about waiting, he might be in right now... He knew that the chances of him cooling off in the River at the moment weren't too high, but he was impatient, and his impatience made him bitter about having to wait.

Swanpaw emerged from the apprentices' den, excited. Today was the first day she'd get to train with her mentor, and she couldn't wait. She really nervous about what they'd have to do, but she knew she wanted to do this. Being an apprentice made her feel like she was truly a part of the clan, as though by getting a new rank, they'd acknowledged that she was one of them. She spotted her mentor, Shellclaw, near the warriors' den and trotted over to him. Swanpaw felt growing anticipation and aprehension as she neared the mysterious looking warrior. She hadn't talked to him much, so she really had no idea what he was like. Shyly, Swanpaw approached him and mewed, "Hi Shellclaw."
